I love Thailand.

Hi fam and friends!

Another week down...I don't know where time is going. It flies too quickly! This past week has been unusually hot for Chiang Mai (or so people say), and hasn't been raining as much. Actually...hasn't rained at all. I didn't like being wet all the time, but now I'm starting to miss the cooler weather! Either way I'm wet--I'd rather be wet with water than sweat. :) Haha. Good ol' Thailand.

We visited Noy, she's so cute. She is the 56 year old lady that speaks English pretty well, and wants my family to come visit. She got hot chocolate from a friend in Taiwan, and she wanted to try it with us! So we opened our little Swiss Miss hot cocoa packets and drank it together--her first time!! She said it was better than coffee, haha. I will say that is the first time I've had hot cocoa in 90 degree weather. She is great. Sadly...she and Pong didn't come to church yesterday, again....so we may need to drop them for a little while. We're pretty sad about it, because they're so great. We'll see them less often, try to keep working with them, and see what happens.

We had a great lesson with Phii Thum...it is amazing to see a person come to know their Savior. At the end of the lesson, she held the Book of Mormon close to her chest (even though she doesn't know how to read), kneel in prayer, and say the sweetest prayer to Heavenly Father and cry all throughout. This gospel changes lives! She comes every single week to church, does her best without being about to read, and just tries to feel the spirit. Oh man, does she feel it! Ha, she's incredible. I can't imagine anything better.

Ok, something hilarious about Thai people. They think braces are the coolest things ever. Some people will just pay money to get braces on, even if they don't need them! They get them just for looks! Isn't that ridiculous?! Hahaha, We passed this huge billboard the other day for a bridal shop, and I thought to myself, "Oh, that dress is so pretty..." All the sudden I saw her teeth and busted up laughing. She had metal mouth galore! I loved my braces and all...but come on.

The other night I was playing with this little girl, who was teaching me some Thai and drawing me pictures. All the sudden, when we were leaving, she came right close to my cheek and sniffed me! Haha, I was taken aback, just kind of laughed, and we left. She's the cutest little girl. I asked Sister Young about it, and she said that's the way they give kisses in Thailand. They sniff! I mean, I think they kiss normal, too. But their little pecks are sniffs. So funny. Thailand is great.

I don't really know what else to say about this week...it has honestly just felt like one really long day. I can't get past the weird time on a mission.

OH-----Elder Hardcastle, you are moving into your last moves! Oh my word!!!! I am so excited for you, and I absolutely know you are sprinting to the finish line. Thank you for being such a stellar missionary, and setting a great example for me. I love you so much!

Katie had a boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, little Jackson looks so perfect. Thank you so much for emailing me, I'm sorry I've been terrible about writing too. Time goes too quickly! He is soooo cute Katie and Josh, congratulations! I love you both! Give him (and Kals) a kiss from me!

I saw a lady riding her scooter the other day, with her helmet on the handle bar, a bunch of bags stacked around her feet, a drink in her hand, and her dog balancing on the seat behind her. Haha, we took a picture, i'll try to attach it next week. Thai people are so funny.

So sorry about the confusion of the mixed up Preparation Days. I think that mixed up days may happen more often, I'm not sure. It depends on if we have to go to Bangkok for meetings or not. Sister Young had to go down for a Trainer/Leadership meeting. Anyway, bottom line is that I will write every week, but it may not be on Monday. Just so you know! I will always write.

Okay....I really don't have much else to write about, sorry! We went to a cool cave wat for preparation day, today. Wats....are all starting to look the same. They're pretty and all...but the temple is way prettier. I cannot wait for the day when Thailand has a temple! That is the focus of the mission, so we're trying to focus on priesthood holders and families. Pres. Smith is looking for 3 years to have a temple, we're trying to work hard now to make it happen!

I love you all so much! I know this work is true. I know that this is the hardest thing I've ever done, but I would never ever trade it for anything. It is an amazing experience, no matter how hard! We are really trying to push hard this last transfer, because it's Sister Young's LAST!! We've set some good goals, and are working for miracles. We are excited to see what happens. As you may have guessed, NO, i was not transferred last week. Haha. Chiang Mai will be my home for the next 2 moves, at least...of which I'm very grateful. I'll probably move right before Christmas time. Weird! Well, I love you all so much. I hope all is well with school and work, and know that I am thinking about you every single day! I have the best family and friends. Just when I see people here who are so alone...and worshiping a statue. I am grateful to know that we have purpose and direction, not only in this life, but the life to come! I am trying to share this message with everyone. I had a great experience yesterday--I talked with a member while we were driving to an appt, and it was actually a legitimate conversation! I understood her, was able to add to the conversation, and it went pretty smoothly! And it wasn't gospel related!! Haha, yeah, yeah...I'm ridiculous. But it was nothing short of a miracle. Heavenly Father is helping so much. Okay, I'm really going this time. I love you all so much! Make it a great week.

Love,

Sister Nay

P.S. Happy Birthday to Willie D this week---I know you're owning law school right now. :) Haha, and take care of those 2 women (I guess you could call Livvy a woman...haha)!! Love you all!
P.S.S. I love mail!
